Fresh Cut Flower Care Tips
  • Cut the stems of your flowers when you first put them in the vase and continue to give them a fresh cut every few days after. Half and inch or more, cut at an angle to maximize the surface area for your flowers to soak in the water.

  • Make sure there is plenty of water in the vase to be absorbed until the next time you change or refill the water. Keep it clean as well, remove any leafy foliage that may be under the water line.

  • Change the water every day or every other day. Clean water is a key to your fresh cut flower's lifespan. The older the water is the more bacteria has grown which is detrimental to your flowers.

  • A good homemade version of flower food that we recommend is a teaspoon full of sugar in your vase and a drop or two of bleach. The sugar acts as food for your flowers as it's absorbed and the small bit of bleach helps to keep the water clean.

  • Avoid heat and direct sunlight on your flowers to keep them strong. A few flowers open with sunlight (strawflower as an example) but for most flowers sunlight will hasten their life and decrease their longevity.
